Our first Show and Share Day was a success! Show and Share exercises many of our Early Childhood learning domains such as language development, literacy, and social emotional growth. The children should bring in an item that corresponds to our letter of the week. Today for the letter C, we had a cape, cups, Cinderella, cars, a comb, a cop uniform, and a camera to name a few. This is a favorite activity at school, the children are always very engaged and excited to see what their friends have to share. Mark your calendars, Thursday is show and share day. This day will change in a few months to give other children an opportunity to participate. Thank you all for supporting this wonderful part of our school day.
Our morning workshop tables were popcorn mosaics, pumpkin play dough, and acorn leaf sensory table. We worked on finishing our turkey portraits and creating our costumes for the upcoming Turkey Ball. Today we beaded Native American necklaces.
We had outdoor recess before the children had chapel with Abouna. Today she began Godly Play stories. She talked to the children about the church calendar and what happens in the church throughout a year. The children are all aware that Christmas is getting very close! This story is presented with a circle of multicolored cubes that represent the church seasons. There are also three clock hands that sit at the very important times of Christmas, Pentecost and Easter.
After lunch we continued our work on our costumes for the Thanksgiving Feast which the children have renamed The Turkey Ball. We practiced our songs and learned a new poem too before ending our day outdoors.
