Happy Birthday Miss Sarah! Just what we needed, something fun to celebrate on this rainy school day. At morning workshop, we made her a special card. We also worked on some beading and made a special pumpkin play dough! It is still pumpkin season. Everyone painted a turkey today. This will be a multi-task project, but soon we will have a room full of Gobblers. We welcomed a new friend today too! Two new friends this week! Hooray!
At morning meeting we began with our tweet and greet. This is a fun way to begin our morning meeting that works to help friends learn each other's names. We also run our hickory dickory dock clock mouse around our clock to talk about our daily schedule. This exercise prepares the children for what is next in our day. We introduced our new letter, Letter Cc. We learned some new Thanksgiving songs before going to snack.
Snack today was goldfish cracker mix with dried apple slices, carrots and cheese. After snack we acted out our new poem, 5 Fat Turkeys Sitting on A Gate. We listened to the story THANKSGIVING DAY, and talked about the first Thanksgiving and our new play centers. Each friend got to choose the costume they want to make to dress up in for our EDS Feast. We then went into our groups to work in our HWT workbooks for the letter C.
We had indoor recess today. It was just too soggy to go outside. Some of our friends were lacking raincoats today. We do go outside in the rain as long as the rain is not too heavy, even if it is just for a few minutes to walk around. Fresh air is an important part of our school day. Please do not assume that we do not go outside if it is raining. Rain boots and raincoats are very much appreciated on a rainy day. Thank you for your understanding.
After lunch we danced to the Bean Bag Boogie and some other fun movement songs. We also made a page for our number books for the number 1. We paint stamped one ear of corn. We ended our day reading a funny story about a pet store dog, WHO WANTS ARTHUR.
