November 19, 2019, Tuesday

Seven days before our Feast on November 26 at noon!  We have a countdown board at our morning meeting.  Today we finished our costumes to wear for our songs.  The day of the feast the children are welcome to take home their painted turkeys and their costumes that they are wearing.  The turkey stories and the family feathers we would like to retain for their end-of-year portfolio books.

At morning meeting we had a friend  tweet and greet, one friend reviewed our hickory dickory dock clock schedule of the day, and another friend reviewed our letter of the week, Letter N.  We all joined together to sing and practice our songs for our Turkey Ball performance.  We will be singing promptly at 12:10 the day of the feast.  28 children dressed in paper get a bit fidgety if we try to hold them too long, so your prompt arrival is much appreciated.  Thank you.

Our snack today was Pirate Booty, peanut butter with fresh cut apples and carrots.  After snack we had a quick sprint outside in the fresh air before our visitor arrived.  Miss Cathy from the Newport Public Library came for a visit today!  She shared with the children some fun turkey stories and a turkey craft that was packed in folders.

We continued to build our log cabin.  Thank you for all the tube donations!  Keep them rolling in.  We are not finished yet.  The Mayflower sailed into our classroom today for some story telling fun.

The children also worked on popcorn mosaics and completed the intestines model to be placed in their boney bodies project that continues to go on.  We ended our day with a story in the library before going outdoors to wait for our ride home.
