We are counting down the days to our Turkey Ball, 8 days! Thank you all for sending in the food stocks for cooking projects to start later in the week. The children will be making mashed potatoes, cranberry sauce, squash and butter. Check out Perfect Potluck for the supply and dish sign up!
This morning's workshop tables included mini puzzles, beading and journals. At morning meeting we introduced our new letter of the week, letter N. We also shared a few family Thankful Feathers. It is not too late to send them in to school. If you have misplaced your construction paper feather, we have extras readily available. We ended circle by practicing our Turkey Ball songs. My friends blew the roof off with their motions and voices! They are ready to sing! Impressive!
Our snack was cheese sticks, fresh strawberries, and mixed nuts. After snack we acted out our 5 Fat Turkeys Sitting On A Gate poem. We also read our Letter Book, The Nicest Newt, before breaking into our work groups to complete our N page in our HWT workbooks. The workbook featured the picture of a Nozzle to color. What a great vocabulary word!
The rain and cold were a bit much at the 11:00 hour, so we danced to a few of our favorite hits like The Freeze, Bean Bag Boogie, and Animal Action to get some cardio into our day.
After lunch we continued working on our costumes for the feast. Our day ended on the reading rug reading a funny story titled, Silly Tilly's Thanksgiving Dinner, by special request.
