We started our day with a grand selection of sensory activities. We had pumpkin play dough, blue sea sand, and large ice chunks in a bin for our letter I week. We also worked on our popcorn mosaics that will be going to our spring art show. Pinching and placing that popcorn exercises that fine motor grasp in a fantastic way. At morning meeting we settled in with our tweet and greet, we then shared our thankful feathers. We thank you for remembering to send in the wonderful feather creations and expressions of thankfulness. No problem if you did not bring them in today, you still have 11 days until our feast where they will be displayed. We have a count down calendar that we have been tracking at our morning meeting.
Our snack today was raisins and veggies straw and graham cracker mix. After snack, we went outdoors for some exercise. What a grand day to be outdoors!
After lunch we continued working on our costumes for the Turkey Ball. The children are creating special pilgrim collars and hats and others are making Native American vests and feather headdresses. We have shared the First Thanksgiving story many times, and they were free to choose how they wanted to dress up for the feast day.
