October 8, 2019, Tuesday

5 Little Pumpkins sitting on a gate....that is our age old October rhyme that is packed with learning points and fun.  Counting, number sense and recognition, rhyming, dramatic play, rhythm, fine motor development, to name a few.  We have a scene set up to act the story out, and today's morning workshop table was creating a painted picture with a stick gate.  This all reinforces our learning of  the number 5.  Our other morning workshop tables were stone story pieces with story books and Halloween manipulatives for sorting.

At morning meeting, after tweet and greet, we danced to our alphabet song, paying close attention for our letter of the week, letter T.  We also danced and sang our Halloween Ball songs.  We talked about the weather and wondered if it was going to rain.  Miss Sarah was absent today, and we welcomed Miss Pam back for the day.^

Our snack was cheese sticks, blueberries, and goldfish crackers.

Center time was spent working in our HWT workbooks on the Letter T page and the number 5 page.  After we finished, we went outdoors for recess.  We are just about ready to get our rakes out for leaf piles!

After lunch we worked on our bat headbands and then met in the math room for our special story on CD, SPOOKLEY THE SQUARE PUMPKIN.  We also listened to SCARECROW MAGIC.  After some story discussion, we headed out to the playground to end our day.
