October 22, 2019, Tuesday

Today we introduced the letter S.  We acted out a fun story about a little old lady who was not afraid of anything.  This is a story that is told by making a lot of fun sounds, a good "s" word. We also created a stomach for our bony bodies, another "s " word!

Our morning workshop tables were Watch-It-Rot journaling,  pumpkin face felt stories, and eyeball brew in our water table.  We also had a fun leaf matching table set up.  At morning meeting we introduced our new letter, danced to our phonics song and practiced our Halloween Ball songs.

Snack was pretzel, goldfish, raisin mix and apples.  After snack, we acted out our story mentioned above.  Group time was spent working on our S page in our HWT workbooks.  We then headed outside to play in the fresh air.

After lunch we gathered on the rug and played with our felt bony body reviewing the parts that we have added to our bony bodies so far.  We then talked about digestion and what happens to our food once we chew and swallow.  We ended our day working on our stomachs for our bony body.  We used a straw for our esophagus and a zip lock baggie for our stomach.  The children looked through grocery papers to clip out some favorite foods to put in their stomachs.  They all opened their rib cages and put their stomachs inside them before heading outside to end our day.
