OOoo What a blustery day! A fine day to make a witches' brew in our water table. It was all purpley with eyeballs floating around. The fun was trying to catch those eyeballs with a laddle. Sounds easier than it is to accomplish! Pumpkins with jack-o-lantern face making was out on the felt board. We also had Halloween patterning strips out with erasers at morning workshop and a Halloween Town story telling table set up.
At morning meeting we talked about our fun planned for the day. We also talked about what fun we have planned for the future and what we are getting ready for like our trip to the pumpkin patch and our Halloween Ball. We learned a poem about how a pumpkin grows and talked about its life cycle. Before we headed off to the snack table, we sang our Halloween songs.
Snack was fruit pouches and peanut butter cheese crackers and pretzels. After snack we had a fun Halloween costume story and talked about trick-or-treating. Center time was spent introducing the letter A and working in our HWT workbooks.
We went outdoors for a short while. The wind was so fierce, we decided to finish recess indoors. We didn't know what would be flying through the air out there. After lunch we told fun pumpkin stories. Miss Abby from the Newport Preservation Society came for a visit to end our day. She talked to the children about bat habitats.
