September 25, 2019, Wednesday

Today we were all Apple Tree Fairies!  We sat under our classroom apple tree and listened to a story called The Magic Apple Star about an apple tree that wished for a star of its own like the stars in the sky.  We waved our magic wands and when the tree was sad about not having the star, the fairies told the tree the magic star was inside its apples the whole time...we opened the apple after tapping it with out wands, and there it was...  the magic star!  We then paint stamped the apple star with a real apple.

Our bones are almost complete!  We just need tubes (paper towel tubes) for 2 more sets of arms and legs...so if you have them, bring them in please!  Slowly we will add parts of the body to our bones.  The brain is next.  We keep our science lessons age appropriate.  Our focus for bones was that they shape our body, that bones are connected, our bones change as we grow until we are 18 years old, and certain foods help keep our bones strong.

It was another gorgeous Fall day to be outside.  We brought the water table outside and took turns guessing if our apples would sink or float.  We love to have water play on these nice warm days.  We also had bubbles, bikes and sand play, balls, the slide and the teeter totter.

After lunch, in honor of M week, we put on our superhero capes and masks and MARCHED TO MUSIC around the classroom!

The children are looking forward to the picnic tomorrow at 5 pm!

Also, on a separate occasion,  Abouna is planning a Blessing of the Animals where you can bring your pets to Emmanuel for a special church service and have your pets blessed.  More information to follow on when that event will be taking place in October.
