What a fantastic Friday!  Our morning began with celebrating another friend's 5th birthday!  Our morning workshop tables were creating a giant birthday card for her.  We also had a dinosaur sensory table open for discovery and a dinosaur printable coloring table.  There was a seed planting station set up for our friends that were not here yesterday to meet with Miss Abby.  We are starting our garden seeds indoors.  The seeds are planted on the outside of the cup, so we can watch the root structure grow.

Mr. Craig Condella presented an amazing Earth Day slide show for the children.in the morning after free play.  We had a lively discussion about our relationship with Mother Earth, seasons, plants, and animals.  There was a particular focus on whales and ocean animals that suffer from plastics. We learned the importance of  the three words Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle. He left the children with a reusable straw to take home.  You should find it in your child's backpack.

Our snack was fresh vegetables of carrots, broccoli, tomatoes, and peppers, and veggie straws.  After snack we went outdoors for a quick breath of fresh air.  It was very damp and soggy outside, so we finished recess indoors.

After lunch our birthday girl shared a fudgecicle fun treat with her friends.  We had our last Friday Show and Share today.  Beginning May 7, Show and Share will be on Tuesdays.  We worked in our chick journals and HWT books.  We ended the day with a few rounds of musical mats.
