March 8, 2019, Friday

Today we celebrated two birthdays!  We decorated two giant birthday cards at morning workshop and shared birthday cookies after lunch.  Our other morning workshop tables were process art with loose parts and absorption art.

At morning meeting we added our 8th check mark to the Lion Days chart.  We are hopeful to have a few check marks on the Lamb chart very soon!  We also talked about our art show preparation and what projects we will be working on.  Our feature art piece has been the Mona Lisa by Leonardo DeVinci, and today we introduced Vincent Van Gogh and some of his work.  We danced to The Color Song.

Snack was pretzels and veggie straws with hummus and oranges.  After snack we shared two stories ISH and SKY COLOR, pictured below.  The stories are grounded in being proud of your work and creations.  We also re-enacted the story MOUSE PAINT.  A classic story that teaches color science.  We took a break outdoors in the sunshine.  It is funny when 30 degrees feels warm!

After lunch we enjoyed our first Friday Show and Share.  Thank you all for sending in some terrific E items.  We then went to work in our art groups working on our projects for the art show.
