Please excuse the delay in the recent blog posts. We have been experiencing technical
difficulties with our school laptop. We expect to correct the problem very soon. Thank

Today we had a double celebration! We celebrated a friend’s 5 th birthday and one of our
friends became a new big brother for the first time! Our EDS family is growing! What a
terrific way to start the day. We decorated a giant birthday card and also came up with
some fine baby tips for the new mother on how to take care of her new daughter.
Congratulations to the baby pool folks that chose a baby girl!
We began our day with Mother Anita and Godly Play. She told the story of lent and
reviewed the church calendar.
Snack today was pretzels and veggie straws, carrots and blueberries. After snack we
enjoyed indoor recess time. Many of our friends are suffering from colds, so we
decided to take a break from the frigid temperatures today. We believe short bursts of
fresh air are a benefit even to those under the weather, so we reserved going outdoors
until right before dismissal.
After lunch, we enjoyed a silly color rhyme together and told the story of MOUSE PAINT
and re-enacted it again. We have been talking a lot about color mixing. I did an
exercise with the children creating painted self-portraits regarding color mixing to make
flesh color. We all put our hands together and studied them…paying close attention to
how each of our hands looked different in color. We then talked about how some
describe our skin as white, at that point dabbing white paint on each of our hands.
Immediately we could see that we are not truly white. We set about adding more colors
to the white in an attempt to match our skin, blending in yellow, orange,
