Late start snow day! It was not a lot of snow, but we'll take it! We began our morning with open play. Some friends listened to the story of THE DOT and then worked on a collaborative art piece related to the story. We met for morning meeting where we sang our goodbye song to the month of February. We talked about seasons and how the upcoming month of March is where winter will turn to spring. Our question of the day was, "Is it winter?" We read the story THE SNOWY DAY. A classic story that delighted many of our friends that were familiar with it. Reinforcing that fact that in early childhood, repetition forms the basis for learning, skill development, and an overall feeling of accomplishment and confidence. We had some music and movement to The Chicken Dance and The Dinosaur March.
After lunch we enjoyed our show and share circle. Thank you all for sending in such fun things to share. Our new Show and Share day will be Friday beginning March 1. We rotate the days so that all of our enrolled children have an opportunity to participate.
We ended our day outside playing in the snow! We even got to bring the sleds out. We are hoping to get a few more flakes overnight so we can play in the snow again tomorrow!
