Love, love, love! What a great idea! We were all super excited for our ice cream party today! We started our day making a giant heart birthday card for Mother Anita. Her birthday was yesterday. She held Godly Play today to talk about St. Valentine, so we presented her card to her this morning. Happy Birthday Mother Anita!
We spent the better part of our morning making special headbands for our Valentine show. Everyone loves a good hand made headband! They all looked so festive for the day. It is hard to look sad when you have a big heart on your head! We double-timed, too, to make them for our friends that were here for the show but not the school day. Fostering that idea of taking care of our friends, any time we can.
It was a lovely day to play outside. Our yard is one big MUD pit for sure. Children LOVE mud. It is natural and a wonderful thing to play in the mud. Did you know there are some schools that celebrate a "national play in the mud day?" Children just get immersed and covered in mud. One day we will figure out how to do this at EDS. But for now, they are doing a pretty good job of enjoying the little mud pits in the yard. What I am trying to get at here is, mud boots are a great idea for school these days.
A great big thank you to all that supported our Ice Cream Social today with your donations, your time, and your smiles! You were all very generous to the teachers, and we thank you very much! Happy Valentine's Day!
