We introduced a new sensory experience today. Water marbles were new to many of our friends. Water marbles begin as teeny tiny multi-colored beads. After sitting in water for a short while, they begin to grow to the size of a marble. They float about the water and have a somewhat slippery, slimy feel to them. You are able to squish them, but we try to put that off as long as we are able. They seemed to be a big hit today. Sensory play is an important element in early childhood. We want to always be stimulating the senses, touch, smell, taste, movement, balance, sight, and hearing! Sensory activities encourage exploration, and through that exploration, the children are making those brain connections stronger!
At morning meeting we introduced the letter G. We also practiced for our Valentine's Day Show. Our morning workshop tables included making valentine hearts and play dough. Snack today was trail mix of raisins, banana chips, Chex cereal, and veggie straws with clementines.
We shared three stories together, GORILLA BE GOOD, I LOVE YOU, and PRETZEL. After lunch we worked in our HWT workbooks on our Letter G page and on our special valentines for Grandparents.
CALLING ALL PARENTS to join our Parent Advisory Board meeting Wednesday, February 13th 9 am. Siblings and students who do not attend school on Wednesday are welcome to join.
