Miss Cathy from the Newport Public Library came for a visit today!  She has the sweetest soul and her visit pulled us all out of the rainy day doldrums!  She read some fun stories about mail (pictured below) and also had a fun Valentine rhyme felt board poem.  She brought a fantastic mail bag craft that you will find in your child's backpack.  This was the perfect follow-up to our post office field trip.  After her visit, we went outside for a quick run about as it was raining lightly.

At morning meeting we read a special "Month of February Alphabet Book,"  reviewed the Letter H and practiced our songs for the ice cream social.  We had a lovely display of fruit for snack today, it was like we were on a tropical island...mango, pineapple, melons and grapes!  We decorated it with a little popcorn.  It was eaten up quickly.

After pizza lunch, we played and played.  Some friends worked in their HWT workbooks on the letter H page, and we continued cutting and painting and writing out our special valentines for the Valentine's Day Ice Cream Social Show.
