We started our new week off in a most wonderful way. We welcomed another new friend to EDS today, AND we celebrated a friend's 4th birthday. She shared some cupcakes with us after lunch. We had a merry 'ole time with lots of conversation about our school and how we celebrate friends not only on their birthday, but we try every day to lift each other up.
Our morning workshop tables were a birthday card drawing table, a pet habitat sorting game, pet drawing table, and pet story table.
Mother Anita joined us this morning for Godly Play. She continued the story about baby Jesus after he was born. After Godly Play, we enjoyed a snack of graham crackers and applesauce.
We were thankful for the sunshine and that the winds had stilled so we could enjoy some outdoor time early today. Please pack hats and gloves (preferably labeled). We do have extra here at school that we share if they are forgotten, as we realize that happens sometimes.
We welcomed our new friends at morning meeting and reviewed the letter D. We danced to the birthday girl's song of choice which was THE FREEZE DANCE.
After lunch we enjoyed some quiet puzzle time and book look. We all met in the Math Room to update our Favorite Pet Graph. Currently Dogs are ahead as the favored pet animal. We still have a few more friends that need to add on to the graph, so we shall see... Our friends then chose which type of pet mask they would like to make. We will begin that project soon. The masks will be used for dramatic play at school and then reserved for our spring art show. After the art show, your child will be able to take their mask home.
We ended our day with a fun game of musical mats. We played several rounds, and one of our friends was a champion winning two times! We all clapped for him.
**In this chilly weather, donations of tissues are always greatly appreciated!**
