January 4, 2019, Friday

It was a dandy of a morning.  Our morning workshop tables were all about the letter D.  We had a dinosaur puppet table, a new truck and car palette to drive our vehicles on, play dough, and a search through the bubbles water table to find the Letter D bubble.  At morning meeting we danced to the dinosaur march.

Snack was veggie sticks and oranges.

Our center time was spent working in our HWT workbooks for the letter D and drawing in our journals.  We also had a game table set up.  We learned a new rhyming song about a pet store and made rhymes for different pets.  Each friend had a turn to pick a pet mask while their friends thought of rhyming words.

We went outdoors for recess today.

After lunch we danced to our favorite dance songs.  After we got our wiggles out, we settled on the rug for a story.  We read WHO WANTS ARTHUR? which is a delightful story about an ordinary dog that fails to get chosen at the pet store.  Day after day he pretends to be a different animal in the hopes of being chosen.  He does some silly things while trying to attract attention.  We also read SNOWMEN AT WORK by special request.  After story time, our friends asked to play the pet rhyming game again.

Some of our friends worked on our graph in the math room.  We are graphing favorite pets.  Right now cats and dogs are tied.

We ended our day outside.
