December 3, 2018, Monday

We have started our countdown to Christmas!  We began making our Christmas stockings this morning that will be hung around our Fireplace in our reading center.  We also worked on our secret Christmas presents for our families.  Spoiler alert below, pictures of work in progress.  We also had a Reindeer Food work station to make some shiny vittles for the reindeer to spy from the ski.  Oh what fun we are having!

We dressed in our costumes and practiced for our Christmas Pageant.  We will be doing this each day going forward.  It is always exciting for us to see how the children bring their own personality to their part in the story.  The practice is where all of the magic happens, the self-regulation, the working memory skills, and a dash of silly willies too.  The night of the pageant can be understandably overwhelming for some little ones.  We do not take this to heart, we smile and enjoy the Christmas spirit and hooray for those that wish to sing and be on stage and the same to those that wish to opt out and sit with their family.

We took a snack break for graham crackers, carrots and yogurt.

After snack we went out to enjoy this splendid day!  It was amazing outside today.  Even more amazing was that Mr. Steve rang the church tower bells for us today!  It was very exciting to hear these beautiful bells that were recently restored to all their splendor.  Thank you Mr. Steve for climbing the tower and ringing the bells!

Mother Anita joined us for Godly Play.  She told the story of Christmas and spoke of Advent.  Thank you Mother Anita for sharing this story in such a wonderful way!

We ended our day outside in the sunshine.  We hope this weather sticks around for tomorrow too!
