December 14, 2018, Friday

11 Days until Christmas!  We did the count down calendar today at morning meeting! Six days until our show!  We are all very excited to tell our Christmas story.  We also danced to our phonics song paying close attention to when we heard the letter R, our special letter of the week.  We had fun exploring a new water table game, letter bubbles.  Everyone was challenged to find the letter R floating and report what the picture was on the bottom of the bubble.  (It was a rainbow, you can ask your child and see if they remember).  We had very busy workshop tables this morning, Christmas green play dough, and Christmas tree paint stamping.  We love to decorate Christmas trees!

Our Christmas pageant rehearsal was extra special today.  Mr Peter Berton came for a visit to play the piano and practice with the children.  Thank you Mr. Berton!  He is one of the nicest fellows you will ever meet.  After rehearsal, we went out to enjoy this wonderfully warm day until our pizza arrived.

After lunch we read Santa Mouse and The Night Before Christmas, pictured below.  Two favorites!  We talked about how the famous story/poem was written right here in Newport, Rhode Island!  You can go view The Clement C. Moore house at 25 Catherine Street.

We finished our Christmas Ornament Color Graph in the math room.  We had more blue ornaments, red was second, and yellow ornaments were the least.  Thank you Miss Sarah for such a fun graph.  I wonder what we will graph next...

Most worked on a paper snowflake number writing exercise.  They are so pretty hanging in our Science room.  We have a few more friends that need to create one.  We wondered how many snowflakes to make a snowman?

We ended our day outside.
