November 6, 2018, Tuesday

Today we were thankful for our new songs.  We have a good time singing the funny verses and silly turkey motions to go with the words.  We are excited to sing them for you at our EDS Thanksgiving Feast.  If you have not done so yet, please sign up on the clipboard at the sign in table your intentions for attendance at the Feast on November 20 at noon.  All family members are welcome.  The sooner we have a good number, the better we can estimate how many potatoes to mash and cranberries to sauce.  Thank you.

Our preparations are coming along nicely.  We are beginning to tell the story of the first Thanksgiving.  Our main focus of the story is how the Native Americans helped the Pilgrims to build a new life here and how thankful the Pilgrims were to have such friends and a new place to live.  We began creating our costumes for the feast.    The children can make anything they want from the Thanksgiving story, it is their choice.

We had a very lovely calm beading circle after lunch to make our Native American necklaces.    Some were sailing in our Mayflower replica ship and some friends were putting together puzzles.  We shared a few stories on the rug.  It was a wonderful day.

Our snack today was grapes, carrots and celery with rice cakes.  We went outdoors for recess, it was warm but a little soggy.  Still a great day to be outside in the misty fog.

Some of our fashionable fowl turkeys have been hung in classroom that you should definitely check out.  We continue to work on those as well as our special place mats for the feast table.  They are fancy!

Our water table is featuring a new tornado tube.  It is a bit leaky, that is the reason we are keeping it in the water table.  It is very exciting to see the funnel cloud form.

We sang our song I AM A PIZZA and read through the story book again today.

We ended our day outside, just in time as the rain drops began to get heavier!
