We had a quiet, rainy start to our day. A good morning to settle on the reading rug together and read funny stories. Our morning workshop tables were cocoa witch making for our Emmanuel Church Fall Fair and Ghosty Feet paintings. We had lots of giggles when the toes got painted! Their feet may need an extra soak in the tub to get a smidge of the paint left behind between their toes.
Our snack was grapes and pretzel cheese puff trail mix.
Our learning centers were working on our shape face jack-o-lantern paintings and the A page in our HWT journals. Some friends also marble painted fall leaves.
We had indoor recess today. We get to ride bikes indoors on rainy days. We also had some dinosaurs and building materials out for play.
After lunch we read the story of The Five Little Pumpkins and acted it out. Like magic, we made the lights go out in the school while telling the story! You can be sure that was met with a "LET'S TELL IT AGAIN!" request from the crowd. We told it again so everyone could have a turn in story telling today.
Thankfully we ended the day outdoors in the cool breeze. We marveled at our new sandbox cover that was built for us! We talked about how we must take extra care while the teachers are opening it, it is very heavy and because of its hinges, we must secure it with a chain to the fence. It is a wonderful addition to our playground.
