It is starting to look like Fall in our classroom. Our morning workshop tables had a fun fall leave sorting table, a painting station to paint a fall tree. We also made red play dough and sprinkled it with cinnamon to remind us of our applesauce. We put some green and brown pipe cleaners with it just in case we wanted to make the play dough into an apple.
At morning meeting we introduced the letter M. We charted today's weather and danced to the color song. Our snack was peanut butter and wheat sticks and apples. Our friends enjoyed the snack very much. If some of their lunch came home, it is because our snack was very filling and nutritious!
Our centers were an introduction to their alphabet book to color their letter M. We also did some apple tasting and recording of what our favorite apple taste was. Some friends made an apple sun catcher and others worked on an apple counting page.
We had some indoor recess and some outdoor recess. We were not sure if the rain was going to stop today. Thankfully it did stop so we could get some fresh air too.
After lunch we read our special letter M book titled Monkey's Miserable Monday. We drew some pictures that started with the letter M. We had free choice play in the afternoon before we ended our day outdoors.
