September 13, 2018, Thursday

Well..we had a very soggy start to our Thursday!  It was raining and pouring and the Old Man was snoring for sure! Our morning workshop tables were Circle paint stamp table, play dough, and sand sculpture.  We watched some weird science in the microwave.  We put a bar of Ivory Soap in the microwave and watched it expand.  It looked a lot like a cloud!

At morning meeting we began to learn our school pledge, which is the Golden Rule.  Be the best person you can be and Treat others the way you would like to be treated.  We shared some more family ties and counted on the calendar.  Our friend from France shared a special prize olf  an Eiffel Tower key chain for all of his new school friends.  We put the prizes in backpacks.  He is learning our language, but "giving" is a universal language we all understand.  A big thank you!

Snack was fresh cut mixed vegetables, hummus, ranch, and pita bread.  Thankfully the rain stopped so we could enjoy outdoor recess.

We read the story "I LIKE ME" by Nancy Carlson.  There is a wonderful line in the story that makes us all giggle.  A pig looks in a mirror and says, "Hi Good Looking"!  So, we made some special mirrors to take home.  Their homework is to look in the mirror and say "Hi Good Looking"!

We continued building our graph in the math room of the shapes we love to eat.  Feel free to venture in there at drop off and check it out!  We also continued our First Day Interviews for portfolios.

We ended our day outdoors!
