March 22, 2018 Thursday

We began our day with Godly Play.  It was Ms. Courtney's birthday today, so we sang to her during Godly Play because she was helping Mother Anita. We love to sing that special song.
Today for snack we had string cheese, graham crackers and peanut butter sandwiches.

Recess was cold and muddy but our friends had fun in the mud!  It was the teachers' delight to see ALL of the children playing joyfully together around the tree, each with a stick exploring the water and mud, sharing and talking together.  That is solid quality play! No toys even!

We read the storybook FREIGHT TRAIN and then reviewed our colors and talked about the different cars on the freight train in the story.  The green cattle car was a favorite because it was carrying cows.  Moo!!

We had a special guest visitor from the Newport Preservation Society.  Miss Abby read the book BEE to us and she introduced how bees collect pollen.  We talked about how it's Spring even though the weather outside reminds us of winter.  We started writing in our Garden Journals and drew pictures of a bee and beautiful spring flowers.

Show and Share had a lot of great M words: mermaids, muffin, mouse, mittens. Morgan. Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Middletown Police Badge and Marshal the dog.  Sorry no pictures parents; the I-pad decided to go into backup mode right as we started Show & Share.

A meeting of the minds!
