March 20th 2020 COVID-19 Update & EDS at Home!

Covid-19 Update March 20, 2020

Dear EDS Families and Friends,
Following the State mandate and schedule of the Newport public schools, the Emmanuel Day School building will remain closed March 23rd-April 3rd. We are hoping to return to campus on April 6th, but will continue to monitor the evolving situation.

EDS at Home is a two-part virtual EDS program that provides content using the EDS Blog and a live daily Morning Meeting using Zoom.
The EDS Blog will feature a daily post with a variety of activities and resources that you can do together at home with your child. These activities are based on our weekly school learning goals driven by the Rhode Island Early Learning and Development Standards.
In addition to Blog content, every day at 10 am your EDS Teaching Team will host a live Morning Meeting using Zoom. You will receive a daily invitation from Della+ (Abouna) to join Morning Meeting live. Click this link to learn how to use Zoom.
Please, email Miss Carissa or starting March 27th email Miss Kate any photos of  your family participating in these lessons that we can share with your friends on the blog.
As we continue our EDS mission virtually, we also want to continue our close sense of community, so please keep in touch!
We understand this is an especially uncertain and stressful time as parents. Would anyone be interested in having a “Parents Night In” for conversation and company once the children are asleep? Della+ would be happy to host this using Zoom.
Although it is a tender time, we can also look at this is a magical opportunity to pause our busy lives and truly soak up this quiet moment with our children. We hope you can use this time to create special family memories together.
We also encourage you to use this email thread, Zoom, the EDS parents Facebook page and Facetime to support and share with each other.
Please let us know if you need anything at all.
See you on Zoom next week! ðŸ˜Š
Your EDS Teaching Team
