Thank you for your patience as we better understand the situation and create a plan at Emmanuel Day School.
As the situation unfolds, EDS is committed to following the lead/schedule of Newport Public Schools and also the guidance of the State.
Newport Public Schools is using this week, March 16-20th as their "April Vacation". Because of that, this week March 16th-20th will also be April Vacation week for EDS. This is in place of the regularly scheduled April break that was planned for April 13th-17th. EDS WILL offer programming the week of April 13th-17th. Since it is now our vacation week, we will not offer EDS programming remotely online this week.
If we remain closed next week, we will start back up and offer our daily virtual "EDS at Home" program! We will do this by creating daily blog postings called "EDS at Home" (as I hope you saw this morning's sneak peak!) and by providing virtual live interactive group meet-ups using a tool called Zoom. More to come about "EDS at Home" our virtual program and Zoom next week.
Planning ahead, the Art Show on April 9th is cancelled. The Silent Auction will be rescheduled for a time we are back together in person.
In the meantime, remember we are a family! Please keep in touch, take care of one another, enjoy this quiet time together, and wash your hands!
