The leprechauns were loose in our housekeeping area already! We came in to a pot of gold and leprechaun hats! A fun way to start our month of March. We started with a rainbow of play dough and shamrock cutters and beading continues to be a morning favorite.
At morning meeting we had our tweet and greet, we introduced the letter E, and talked about our new month of March. We talked about the weather and how we begin to see our season change this month. March begins in the season of winter which can be like a lion, roaring and windy and snowy. The month ends going into spring, which is like a lamb, gentle and sunny and warmer. We will be charting the weather this month by either a lion day or a lamb day. Today our weather reporter decided it was a lamb day. We closed our meeting with a dance to our color song.
Snack today was Smartcorn, raisins, and purple grapes. After snack we read our Enormous Elephant E book and the story book Green which is about all the different shades of green. We then broke into our groups and worked in our workbooks practicing writing the letter E.
Lamb day indeed, our outdoor recess was very mild and sunny! We rode bikes, played in the sand, bounced, and teeter-tottered.
After lunch we worked on art projects which included self-portraits, Cezanne oil pastels, and paper doll fairy tales. Station tables were set up with lacing cards, pipe builders, puzzles and animals with brick blocks to build for the animals. We ended our day outdoors in the sunshine.
