Mother Teresa said, "Spread love everywhere you go. Let no one ever come to you without leaving happier." What a lovely quote to teach the children. We plan to do just that this month, spread some love. We are preparing for our field trip to the St. Clare's Assisted Living Home where we will hand out homemade Valentine cards and sing some cheery love songs. Our morning workshop table was set up for card making today. We also had a brand new toy aircraft carrier with airplanes set up, a woodland creature story telling table, and letter F ink stamping and construction sets.
At morning meeting we welcomed Miss Pam for the day. We talked about our upcoming Valentine's Day events that we are preparing for, and we learned a new song called The Valentine Song.
Snack was cantaloupe, bananas, cheese sticks and pretzels. After snack we listened to the story The Princess and The Frog. A great story that reminds us that keeping your word is important. We then broke into our groups and worked on our Letter F page in our HWT workbooks.
We went outdoors for recess today. We rode bikes, teeter tottered, dug in the mud, and played frisbee and ball. The sunshine was encouraging us to stay outside for a long while.
After lunch we continued working on our Valentine cards and playing. Miss Pam held a wonderful story reading circle. There are so many fairytales to enjoy, it is hard to stop at just one!
