Love, love, love! We started our morning creating wonderful Valentines to be mailed at our upcoming field trip. We also had a stamping table with Valentine themed stamps.
Abouna is in Jerusalem until next week, so we have no Godly Play this week. At morning meeting we had our tweet and greet where we welcomed Miss Jackie to our classroom to help out while Miss Sarah is out this week. We introduced the letter F. We talked about our upcoming events that we are preparing for such as our St. Clare's trip, our Post Office visit and our Valentine's Day Ice Cream Social. We learned a new song today that we will be singing at the St. Clare's Home called The Valentine Song.
Our snack was bananas, blueberries and graham crackers. After snack we met on the story rug for a new turtle poem, and we read The Frog Prince. After a good stretch and a few hops up and down, we had a good show and share session. Thank you for all the wonderful items beginning with the letter F. We had a fawn, flamingo, fire engine, firefighter, flashlights, french fries, fox, fingernail paint, fairies, a flowered hat, frog, and a doll named Florence. I am sure I have forgotten one...see how I got that one last f word in there.
We charged outside today. The children were very ready for the sunshine and fresh air. We spent a bunch of time outside with bikes, the slide, bouncies, digging, and frisbees.
After lunch we continued work creating Valentines and playing. We ended our day by completing the last column on our fairy tale comparison chart for The Frog Prince.
