January 21, 2020, Tuesday

Turtle Tuesday today!  We had a fun time with the Audubon Society that came for a visit this morning.  A turtle specialist read the story Tudley Doesn't Know and shared some turtle facts with us.  The children were able to touch a real turtle shell without a turtle body in it and one with a real live turtle inside.  We were all delighted to watch the turtle move about.  He would take off in sudden bursts of motion moving quite faster than you would imagine a turtle could move!  How lucky we were to start our week with such fun, and we all learned something too!

Before our turtle visit, we had workshop tables of story sequencing, drawing, Letter F ink stamping, and a woodland story table.  Our snack was cucumbers, cheese cubes and goldfish crackers.

We went outdoors for a quick run about and to get some fresh air in our lungs.  We quickly came back in doors and had free play while taking turns at the work table to draw and talk about our turtle visit.  We love to reflect on such classroom action.  We often learn new vocabulary when we have these detailed discussions around the table with lots of our friends sharing their thoughts.  This conversation is the richest part of our day.

Keep Miss Sarah in your prayers.  She came down with the flu and is improving each day.  She will be out for the rest of the week to regain her strength.

We ended our day making a baby tips poster for Miss Terri's family who welcomed a new baby girl into the world in the wee hours of the morning on Friday.  You can never have enough ideas on how to keep a baby happy for sure!
