Run, run Rudolph, there's 7 days until our Christmas pageant! We are all excited for this very festive night at EDS! We began our day today with workshop tables that included Christmas stocking creation, penguin and ice water table, play dough with holiday cookie cutters, and Christmas counting mats. Some children also worked on their bony bodies. We are creating hearts and veins for our bodies and adding lungs.
At morning meeting we acted out a counting poem called "8 Little Reindeer Pulling Santa's Sled." Every child had a turn to be a reindeer and we also needed a Santa. The poem read "one reindeer fell down and bumped his head...the elves called Santa and Santa said...can 7 little reindeer pull Santa's sled?" When there were no reindeer left, Santa had to call Rudolph. A silly way to start our day and exercise our number skills.
Snack today was peanut butter crackers, fresh cut vegetables of cucumber, pepper, broccoli, and tomato and oranges. After snack we practiced our pageant in the sanctuary with Abouna.
After lunch we had show and share for the letter B. Our day ended slip sliding away outside on the icy remains of the snowfall.
