October 24, 2019, Thursday

We are all looking forward to our trip to the pumpkin patch tomorrow at The Farmer's Daughter.  We will all meet there at 10 a.m. and end our trip with a picnic at noon.  School will be closed tomorrow.  We have been talking a lot about how a pumpkin grows and all the different ways we can use a pumpkin.  Our most favorite way to use a pumpkin was to make it into a jack-o-lantern.  The children have been narrating Halloween stories about their jack-o-lantern paintings.  This is a fun lesson about story telling and using our imagination.  You will see them hanging around the classroom for your reading pleasure.

At morning meeting after our tweet and greet, we talked about our Halloween costumes and sang a witchy brew song.  Our snack was very colorful this morning with yellow bananas. red apples and green grapes, and yogurt.  After snack we went outside to stretch our legs before chapel time.

At chapel time this morning with Abouna, we learned about God's Family.  We are all part of God's family and God loves us all.  She took them into God's living room, or the Sanctuary, for a walk about to have a look see.

After lunch we headed back outside to enjoy the sunshine and to wait for Miss Abby's arrival.  She came for a visit today from the Newport Preservation Society to talk to the children about our falling leaves.  It is always fun to have Miss Abby visit our school!  A great way to end our day for sure.
