September 19, 2019, Thursday

It is beginning to look like Fall in our classroom!  Just a few more summer days left!  You will begin to see skeleton bones hanging in our classroom.  Although they serve as the perfect Halloween decoration, they are actually the beginning of our long term science project!  We will be exploring fun books about our bodies and learning about some important parts of our body that our skeleton protects.  For example, the first thing we will be adding to our bodies is the brain.

Our morning workshops were fall leaf painting, skeleton painting, water marbles in the water table and water color painting, shredded paper eye spy and floam.

At morning meeting after our tweet and greet, we looked at more super family capes and danced to Dem Bones and our alphabet phonics song.

Our snack was blueberries, pretzel mix and cheese sticks.  After snack we read stories about our bones, painted a picture of our bones (which you can view in our Science Room bulletin board) and practiced writing our names.

It was another perfect day for outdoor recess.  We offered bikes, sandbox play, teeter totter, the slide, balls, chalk  and bubbles.

After lunch we met in the math room to focus on our number 3,which is our number for the month.  We told the story of the 3 Little Pigs with puppets and then reinforced the number with ink stamping 3 pigs.  We ended our day outside on the play ground.

A note from Miss Carissa:
Please remember to submit your updated physical forms.
Our school day is from 8 am to 2 pm. Often times we end our day outside in the play yard with outdoor lessons before dismissal.
We are SO excited for our Back to School Picnic next week! Thursday, Sept 26th 5-7 pm. Hope to see you there!
