Today we studied the letter Y. We continued finishing work on our chick journals by recording our thoughts on our trip to Casey Farm. Our graduates worked on painting their bag bodies.
Our snack was cucumbers and ranch with trail mix. We went outdoors to play in the fresh air.
A friend brought in a special book today called UNICORNS ARE REAL. Another different friend just happened to have an amazing toy unicorn in her backpack that lit up rainbow colors and made very special magical sounds while the rainbow lights flashed. Now, while we discourage toys from home on non-show-and-share-days...this was just too fun to ignore. So, we made a special reading circle, and we read the book page-by-page while we passed the unicorn. At the end of each page, whomever was holding the unicorn got to press the magic star and watch the magic. We all had some great giggles for this special story time.
We ended our day with a visit from Miss Abby from the Newport Preservation Society.
