May 7, 2019, Tuesday

Today we worked on finishing up our chick journals.  Our morning workshop tables were making yourself into a paper butterfly.  We also had dinosaur fossils in ice so we could pretend to be Paleontologists and dig them out.  Some friends are still painting their bodies for graduation.  We are also keeping watch on our butterfly tent.  The caterpillars are in their chrysalis and should hatch some time in the middle of next week.  After they hatch, we will observe them for a few days and then release them to the wild.

Our snack today was popcorn cracker pretzel trail mix and bananas.  After snack we worked in our HWT workbooks on the letter Y page.  We read the story THE YAK THAT YELLED YUCK.

We went outdoors for recess today to enjoy the sunshine.

After lunch we had show and share outside on a parachute. Thank you for
the wonderful items sent in to share!

We are all very excited for our farm visit tomorrow.  We will meet promptly at 9:45.  Our tour begins at 10.  Please pack a picnic lunch to enjoy together after our tour.  There are picnic tables available.  Also a friendly reminder to wear shoes that are suitable for walking around a farm.
