We began our Egg Journals today by marking off Day 1 on our Count Down calendars to Hatch Day.  At morning meeting we met Chelsea Chicken.  Chelsea lays a magic egg every morning that opens to a picture of what our 13 eggs look like on the inside of the shell on that particular day.  We will track daily the growth and development of the chicks for 21 days to hatch day!  We studied the letter U and learned a chick hatching poem.

Morning workshop tables were drawing and painting a special Easter Bunny poster for the holiday.  They were so fine, we were tempted to put them in the art show!  In the end, we thought them better served at home to decorate for the holiday. We also had a table for making a giant birthday card for one of our friends that turns 4 soon!

Snack was cheese popcorn, strawberries and pea pods.  We went outdoors for recess.  It was glorious weather out there today, we hated to come inside!  After lunch, we celebrated our friend's birthday with special strawberry cupcakes.

We ended our day outdoors.  The Easter Bunny must have been inspired by the sunshine because it came back again today to hide eggs for an egg hunt!  You  may hear the song Little Bunny Foo Foo at some point tonight.  We sang it quite a few times outside today.  It is a very catchy tune that stays with you for a while!
