April 23, 2019, Tuesday after Spring Vacation

We were welcomed back from vacation with the blossoming of our beautiful cherry tree and Forsythia bush, not to mention our garden flowers.  It is our tradition to take group photos with that terrific backdrop!  We eased back into our schedule today.  Our morning was spent rebuilding our school after taking down our art gallery.  The children were very helpful with this chore.  We also had morning workshop tables of drawing and beading set up.

We celebrated a friend's 5th birthday today.  We constructed a giant birthday card for him, and he shared a treat of ice cream cups after lunch.  A festive way to return to school.

Today is the 16th day of development for our chick eggs.  We talked about what is happening inside those eggs.  The chicks intestines are turning to the inside of its body.  We discussed that we, too, have intestines and what purpose they serve for our bodies.

Our snack today was frozen yogurt and Pirate Booty.  After snack the children were treated to a visit from Miss Cathy from the Newport Library.  The stories she read are pictured below.

We spent a lot of time outside enjoying the first signs of spring!
