December 12, 2018, Wednesday

Let it snow, let it snow, let is snow!  There is no snow outside, but we are making snow inside at EDS!  We had a snowflake workshop table this morning to make a snowflake with six points.  We practiced writing our numbers on our snowflake paper too.  They are hanging in the science room and some are in our Polar Express play center.  One day soon we shall get to investigate real snowflakes with a magnifying glass to count the points.

We are finishing up our secret presents and some have been packed for home.  Every child is making a present for their family, and it will be packed for home as soon as they are finished.  The children also made a colorful string of Christmas lights with their fingerprints.  You can see those hanging on the glass windows.

Our snack today was popcorn and carrots.  After snack we had a wonderful show and share circle for the letter R today.  Thank you all for sharing today!

We went outdoors for recess.

After lunch we practiced our Christmas Pageant.  Only 8 days to our show day!  Please remember we have a full dress rehearsal on December 19 at 1 pm for those that do not attend school on Wednesdays.  We have a pajama party on that day too.  Everyone can wear their pajamas to school.  For those children that do not normally attend on Wednesdays but are coming to the practice, they are invited to wear their pajamas too.  I do want to make a note that the pajamas are not part of the Christmas pageant, meaning the children come in their regular dress clothes for the Christmas pageant.  There has been some confusion about that in the past.

After practice, we headed back out into the sunshine to end our day together.

Thank you all who contributed to our community Giving Tree!
