October 9, 2018, Tuesday

Today we welcomed three new friends!  That always makes our day extra special. So proud of our friends for helping our new friends learn about our school day.

Our morning workshop tables were lacing cards, jack-o-lantern counting mats, and jack-o-lantern sensory bin.

At morning meeting we practiced our Halloween songs for the Halloween Pumpkins on Parade Party.  We have been practicing our School Pledge and the Pledge of Allegiance.

Our snack was celery, pretzels and bagel chips with hummus and ranch.

After snack we listened to a story on CD, SCARECROW MAGIC.  Our work centers were shape paint stamping faces for our jack-o-lanterns and introduction to the Letter A.  The introduction included reading a story, THE ADVENTURES OF ABBY ALLIGATOR, exploring our alphabet board at the morning meeting board, and building the A with the HWT wood pieces.  Some friends worked in their HWT books on the letter A page.

We went outdoors to enjoy this unseasonably warm fall day!  This time of year, the weather changes quickly and is very unpredictable.  Please dress in layers!

After lunch we acted out the story THE LITTLE OLD LADY WHO WAS NOT AFRAID OF ANYTHING by Linda Williams.  A fun story with sound exploration about bravery and creativity!  We will retell this story often this month.

We ended out day outdoors enjoying the sunshine.
