At morning meeting we talked about our trip to the Pumpkin Patch, reviewed the letter P, and sang our Party songs. We learned a new one today called I'm A Little Pumpkin.
Our snack was popcorn, Clementines, apples and bananas.
At center time we made clouds in a jar. This is a science experiment that demonstrates how clouds rain. Using colored water droplets into a shaving cream cloud over water until you slowly see the colored water seep through and down into the water below. It is a very dreamy wonderful experiment. We also couple this experiment with color mixing. We talked about blending blue and red to make purple. Our second center was narrating our stories to go with our Halloween jack-o-lantern paintings. The choice of a spooky story or a silly story was offered. Once we have completed them, we will share our stories together and graph how many chose spooky and how many chose silly.
After lunch we enjoyed extended Puzzle time. The sun peeked out from the clouds and that inspired us to get outside and have a Parade. A Letter P Parade! A great way to end our day.
Pumpkins on Parade is Tuesday October 30th from 5:30-7 pm. Come in costume! We will be poppin' some popcorn and sippin' some cider while walking through the school yard to see all of the jack-o-lanterns! All of the students will gather on the church steps at 6 pm to sing some festive songs!
