October 22, 2018, Monday

We introduced the letter P today.  The children created a pretty popcorn page and also created a pattern on paper.  We also completed the P page in our HWT books.  During morning workshop, we worked on our scarecrows, made funny jack-o-lantern faces with felt and put together a pumpkin puzzle.  We played a challenging came of leaf matching.

At morning meeting we practiced our party songs and counted the days before our fun pumpkin patch field trip.  We made sure to Pledge the flag and say our school pledge because pledge is a wonderful P word.

We went outdoors for recess.  Remember those hats and gloves this week. It is getting chilly!

After lunch we told the story of ROOM ON THE BROOM.  A wonderful tale of friendship and helping one another and sharing and being good to each other all around.  It is a favorite we act out at Halloween.  I suppose because that is when we have all the props available, because truth be told, it is not a Halloween tale.  The story rhymes, so the children have a great time filling in the last word on the page.  They are good rhymers.

We continue to work on our Dingly Dangly Scarecrows.

We ended our day outside.
