October 18, 2018, Thursday

Spectacular S week!  Today we investigated a pumpkin.  We explored inside and described how it felt with many S words, like Slimy, seedy, sticky!  We talked about the pumpkin life cycle and they even packed in their folder a seed to plant at home.

We celebrated a friend's birthday today.  We made a big birthday card and shared cupcakes after lunch.  Our morning workshop tables were spooky town, leaf matching, pattern cards, and felt jack-o-lantern faces.

We practiced our songs for our pumpkins on parade party and talked about our upcoming field trip to the pumpkin patch.  We are all very excited to share what our Halloween costumes are going to be!

After lunch we gathered to retell THE BIG PUMPKIN STORY.  A delightful story about a little bat with a big idea that saves the day.

Today we practiced the letter S by tracing and erasing with a wet sponge on a blackboard.  A fun and tactile way to learn our letter for sure!

As promised, our science experiment today was making your own clouds in a jar!  Forgive the damp and colored shirts.  We got a bit wet exploring color after we dumped our clouds in the water table.  The color is washable!

Please remember to return your Field Trip form and payment by the end of the day tomorrow.
