Spooky town was set up for morning fun and story telling. This is a table set up with battery candles illuminating magna tile shapes, a house and Halloween character finger puppets and people figures. It has been a hit for sure. We also had out bingo markers to create colorful art or to make 5 Little Pumpkins sitting on a gate.
At Morning Meeting, we said good morning to our friends in our spooky voices while we put our owls in the tree. We practiced our party songs and talked about our upcoming field trip and party. We are all very excited for what is to come.
Snack was cut grapes and brioche.
Miss Cathy from the Newport Public Library came to visit today bringing some fun seasonal stories. After story time the children made some fun monster masks! Try not to be scared when you see them!
We went outside on this glorious fall day after our craft with Miss Cathy.
After lunch we all gathered for a group science experiment. We reviewed our different kinds of clouds and then we made it rain in our classroom. We created an earthly like environment with water and talked about evaporation; yes, one friend explained evaporation to the teacher! Wow...great job parents! Our cloud was actually shaving cream and our rain was colored water so we could see it fall from the cloud when it decided to rain. After that, we had a very fun time color mixing our different rain colors to make purple. Now that we have done this experiment together, the children will have a chance to do their very own rain cloud on a following school day.
We ended our day back outside in the sunshine.
