June 6, 2018, Wednesday

We began our day with our Godly Play story with Mother Anita.  It was Mother Anita's turn to receive our thanks today.  The children presented a lovely long list of messages and pictures for her.  As we are in our final week of school, we want to share our special stories together.  The children are noticing the classroom changing as we are beginning to pack away for the summer.  We had a special moment with a mom that decided to share a story with her son.  Aaah, the beauty of a special new voice sharing a familiar story.  It did not take long for all the children to crowd around her and listen intently to her words.  It makes our hearts sing to see such a sight as this!  We celebrated a friend's summer birthday today.  She brought fudge pops, and we made her a special card.  We also had some fun with a cooking project.  We baked brownies.  We marveled at how wonderful this brand of brownies was because the recipe directions were done in pictures so our young friends could read them...no teacher required.  They quickly could match all of the items brought from the kitchen to the pictures on the box...uh oh.. except for one.  It didn't take them long to realize we did not have the cooking pan.  We all got a job to do in preparing the batter.  Cracking the 2 eggs is always a blast.  I am happy to report we each got a small sampling of delicious brownie with our fudge pop.  We called it a chocolate dream day!  The rain held off, so we were able to get outside for some fresh air.  Our snack today was graham crackers and apples.  The day ended with one of our favorite activities, can you guess it?...show and share!

Miss Terri wrapped our friend in a seaweed scarf...

 Pop-up story time!  Delightful.
Brownie baking..Yes, I could have picked a bigger table, but squishing together is so fun.
 Godly Play.

I am asking Santa Clause for more big wheels!  They are very high in demand at recess!  We definitely get to practice our turn taking skills!
