April 30, 2018, Monday

Monday, Day 5, Our chicks have begun to grow ears and a nose and should have a heart beat today.  Every morning our Chelsea Chicken lays an egg that tells us what is happening inside our incubator.  This week, we are expecting delivery of our butterfly larvae.  We will have another life cycle to track!  Our friends worked on their Chicken life cycle journal.  We also worked all day on our secret surprise projects for Mother's Day Tea.  Spoiler alert!  Do not look too closely at the photos!  We are learning some new songs and poems to go along with what is happening in our classroom.  We began our study of the letter Y.  We read a story about a Yak today.  Our snack was carrots and crackers and cheese.  We got outside two times...we were afraid it was going to rain, but it held off.  Our church gardens are bursting with flowers and blossoms.  We are working with the children to please respect the blooms and not pick the flowers.  The gardens have been fenced off, particularly by the entrance door, please do not allow your children to step over the fence after school hours. There is quite a fun path that leads behind the bushes to the toy shed.  We have established that area as a "no play" zone.  Please help us with this rule.  It is too confusing for the children if they are allowed to play behind the bushes after school hours.  We thank you for your support.
