January 3, 2018, Wednesday

Fantastic second day back from holiday!  Our friends settled back into our school routine so nicely!  Lots of smiles and fun today.  Thank you all for packing such great snow gear bags!  We played outside for quite a while.  Funny how 30 degrees can feel warm after the last couple of days!

For those interested, here is the link to sign up for automatic texts or emails for closing alerts.  There is an option to select EDS under the preschool category:
You may also follow the Newport School System announcements.  EDS closes when Newport Public Schools close.

We love our new quiet spot.  The new topiary is lovely.
Water table with Polar animals and ice marbles.  Remember...don't squish!
Free choice play at the literacy center.
We have a bunch of sensory experiences happening in our classroom.  Moon sand is still a favorite.
 Puzzle table.
 Stamping fun.
 Polar play.
Exploring Polar animals.

 The penguin dance.

We now have a question of the day.  Today's question was, "Do you like snow?"
More penguin dance...they've got the moves!

Labeling the Arctic and Antarctic on Earth.
We studied the letter Q.  We had fun writing a Q and erasing it with our wet sponges.  A friend had a fun idea to make the letter on the table with our wet sponges too!
We practiced our measuring skills while making Polar Play dough...more sensory too!
What is frozen in the ice berg today?  Penguins!
Creating our paper Earth so we can label the Polar caps.
Look...I have glue on my hands.
 Snow dough...polar play dough!
It sparkles!
 Look at my snowball!

We read THE PENGUIN THAT WANTED TO FLY.
Are we in the Antarctic?.....No, it is just a fabulous EDS sensory table!
