Hatch Update: 10 chicks, 5 RI Reds and 5 Dominiques
STORY TIME
Have you ever tried to YoYo?
Tomorrow is the first day of the month of May. That is called May Day. What tradition from around the world did you like to celebrate May Day?
LETTER of the WEEK : Yy
To write the capital letter Y, start at the top and make a short diagonal line down and a short diagonal line up. Leap back to the point where the short lines come together and make a short straight line down.
Make a Y on a piece of paper with 3 pieces of YARN.
Make a letter Y basket. Find a box or basket and treasure hunt for 5 items that start with Y!
Draw a bubble letter Y. Color it yellow. Cut the letter out using scissors.

MATH
The Shape of the Month is an Oval. The Number of the Month is 10.
This week let's make a pattern that repeats 10 times by drawing or stamping a set to include a square, triangle, and oval, 2 times each day. By Friday, you will have a pattern that repeats 10 times! That is a lot of work. Are you adding on? Is it a long trail of shapes?
SCIENCE
Draw a picture of our newly hatched chicks! Think about how many Rhode Island Reds hatched and how many Dominique chicks hatched. What colors were they? What did they have in their brooder box? What did they need after they hatched?
Work on the Seedling book.
