Happy May Day!
We are celebrating Emmet's birthday today at our Zoom meeting. Please draw him a special birthday message to share. Thank you!
Chick Week: The chicks are growing by leaps and bounds! Soon the chicks will return to their home at Casey Farm. You may get a peek at the mommy chickens if you attend their Farmer's Market held every Saturday morning. Visit their website for details. Abouna, our resident mother hen, is looking into keeping four of the chickens. We are keeping our finger's crossed that the children will be able to visit some of the grown chicks at EDS one day!
STORY TIME
Did you like this story? Did you recognize some of the other princesses mentioned in the story?
Today is the first day of the month of May. That is called May Day. What tradition from around the world did you like to celebrate May Day?
LETTER of the WEEK : Yy
To write the capital letter Y, start at the top and make a short diagonal line down and a short diagonal line up. Leap back to the point where the short lines come together and make a short straight line down.
Make a Y on a piece of paper with 3 pieces of YARN.
Make a letter Y basket. Find a box or basket and treasure hunt for 5 items that start with Y!

MATH
This week let's make a pattern that repeats 10 times by drawing or stamping a set to include a square, triangle, and oval, 2 times each day. By Friday, you will have a pattern that repeats 10 times! That is a lot of work. If the pattern trail is long enough, you can make a crown out of it and wear it to our Zoom meeting on Monday!
SCIENCE
Draw a picture of our newly hatched chicks! Think about how many Rhode Island Reds hatched and how many Dominique chicks hatched. What colors were they? What did they have in their brooder box? What did they need after they hatched?
Work on the Seedling book.
