No paint at the easels ...this morning was all about sculpture. Paper tubes of different sizes, cardboard pieces, and all kinds of doodads to fashion on their sculpture were provided on a morning workshop table. The glue was flying through the air! Free creation. What fun.
The water table was open with tubes and basters and other squirters. We have a fresh stock of beads, so our beading table continues to be a favorite in the morning. What a great fine motor and creative exercise beading is for our friends! We played and created right through morning meeting time. At snack we had rice crackers with hummus and spinach dip and tomatoes.
Our friends met with Abouna for the story of the Mustard Seed. A fantastic parable with the idea that great and big things can come from very small things. After chapel we went outdoors where we played on the tricycles, slide, seesaw, hoppers sandbox and balls. Chalk was out for drawing too.
After lunch the children met with Mr. Raymond for our first music lesson. The children learned how to play the hand bells. Everyone got a turn to meet with Mr. Raymond. We had center tables open for play and the children continued working on self-portraits and fairy tale stories.
We ended our day back out in the sunshine.
